Privacy, use and development status

An independent experimental project

TACITUS is an independent research and software project. Its operator is identified on the Who we are page. TACITUS is a project name; no TACITUS legal entity has been incorporated. References to TACITUS, “we” or “our” on this website refer to this project and its operator.

PRAXIS offers an experimental workspace for document upload, capsule proposal review, saved context and AI-assisted conversations. Recorded checks demonstrate particular workflows under stated conditions. They do not establish analytical accuracy, suitability for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. See the dated workflow evidence and evaluation boundaries.

Website privacy

The project operator handles inquiries about information collected through this website. Email hello@tacitus.me with a privacy question, access or deletion request, or correction. Identify the information concerned without sending identity documents or sensitive records in an initial email.

• Serving pages: hosting services receive technical request data such as IP address, browser information and requested URL. Infrastructure logs may be used to maintain availability and investigate abuse. This notice does not promise a fixed infrastructure-log retention period.
• Optional analytics: Google Analytics and Plausible load only after you allow analytics, and only when configured. They may receive page and event information, IP address and browser details. Google Analytics may set _ga cookies. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track prevent our optional analytics loader from running.
• Your preferences: this site stores your analytics choice and optional display mode in your browser. You can change analytics preferences at the bottom of any page. Declining after accepting clears accessible Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. This does not erase information already received by a provider.
• Local examples: the playground and pilot brief builder process the text you enter in your browser. They do not submit that text through the inquiry form. Keep confidential material out of public demonstrations.
• Inquiries: a configured web form sends your name, email, topic and message to the project operator via Resend for reply handling. If delivery is unavailable, the form prepares a local draft and says it was not sent. Email and webmail options use your selected mail provider. Inquiry details are used to reply and discuss your request, not included in analytics events.

Configured analytics providers: Google privacy information and Plausible data policy. Configured inquiry delivery: Resend privacy information. These providers are used only when the relevant service is configured. The website serves its font files from its own host.

Retention, requests and international processing

We have not published fixed retention periods for inquiries or infrastructure logs. Ask us about the relevant information before sharing material that requires a contractual retention or residency commitment. Providers may process data in other countries under their own service arrangements. Ask for a deployment-specific provider inventory before an institutional evaluation.

We will review requests concerning information we control and explain any limits, including provider-controlled records or obligations to retain information. Rights and complaint routes depend on your jurisdiction. This notice does not establish a certification or a legal compliance assessment.

Documents and conversations in PRAXIS

Read the PRAXIS privacy notice and application terms before uploading. Source documents, saved capsules and conversations are different from website analytics. Do not infer that model processing, retention, deletion, residency or team permissions are covered by this website notice.

Before a pilot, agree permitted sources, enabled document and model providers, reviewer access, storage, retention, deletion and support. Trust and data-handling questions.

Use and licensing

The newly authored policy teaching graph is offered under CC0-1.0, as stated in that file. It is fictional, manually authored data in a teaching format. This permission does not extend to other capsule fixtures or source documents.

The website contains research proposals, synthetic examples and experimental tools. AI-generated outputs may omit evidence, misattribute a source or draw an unsupported inference. Independently check source passages, dates, calculations and conclusions before use. These tools support analysis; they do not provide professional legal, financial, diplomatic, security or employment advice. Future features are proposals, not service commitments.

Use only material you have permission to process. Public demonstrations are intended for public or synthetic material. Do not upload classified, privileged, sensitive personal or confidential institutional records to the experimental application without separately established authorization and suitable data-handling arrangements.

Experimental features and access limits may change or be withdrawn. No service-level agreement, certification, or guarantee of fitness for a particular purpose is offered by this website. Nothing in this notice excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. Project status does not remove the operator’s legal obligations.

Repository licenses govern code in those repositories. Downloadable examples identify their own terms at the download point; do not assume that a repository license automatically covers every website illustration or capsule. If terms are unclear, ask before redistribution. No permission to use the TACITUS name or branding is granted by downloading a reference artifact.

Paid upgrades are unavailable. A pilot inquiry is a discussion request, not a purchase or a commitment to provide a service. Any institutional evaluation requires an agreed scope, identified contracting parties and applicable terms before work begins. Current access and pilot scope.
